AGILITY
Agility is a fast, fun sport for all types & sizes of dogs. There are two divisions in agility - Jumping, which involves various types of jumps & tunnels, and Agility, which involves other more challenging contact equipment as well.
The courses are numbered & set out by the judge, who also decides on the allowed time to complete the course for a pass towards either agility or jumping titles. Many obedience clubs have classes where you can train your dog & run courses just for the fun of it. Both agility events are based loosely on show jumping, and just like competitive jumping, teamwork between handler & dog is extremely important.
Courses are varied in the obstacles included & the order in which they are performed. As dogs progress, the tests become harder, but the height each dog is required to jump is always based on their height at shoulder.
