MR STEPHEN WHEELER
It seems strange to write this resume, but I’m returning home with joy after almost 4 years. With the past 3 years of great turbulence in our lives due to Covid and climate change, life as we know it is very different now.
It is such a great pleasure to be judging your specialty and I'm looking forward to
catching up with so many of you after the show.
No need for me to write too much about my time in OZ. Exhibitors of long standing would remember me and hopefully the newer exhibitors know I have a background with Afghan Hounds as well as Miniature and Standard Poodles. This started back in the late seventies and continued when I moved to Sweden and now Spain. I have bred under the Jacosta and Avatar prefixes.
I have been judging for almost 40 years and although judging at major All Breeds Shows has been enjoyable in the past, it is somewhat challenging these days with reduced numbers and no longer the depth of quality that once abounded.
I have really slowed down my judging in recent times and have judged only one major All Breeds show over the past two years.
But Specialty Shows are different. To date I have judged well over 80 Specialties and so look forward to judging your show.
Specialties allow me as a judge to evaluate good numbers, larger classes and hopefully good quality.
This combination makes me work as a judge which I enjoy.
Anders Rosell and I have slowed down somewhat with our direct involvement in showing dogs. We currently have three wonderful Miniatures with another to arrive in the coming months, plus co - owing another Standard. Our success over the past twenty years with the minis has been quite amazing, enjoyable and very rewarding as breeders.
So, don’t let me down! I would love a good entry, love to have quality dogs and want everyone to have a great day.
See you all very soon.
