Lure
Lure Coursing has a long history, traditionally a sport for Sighthounds, it is a competition designed to simulate a hare hunt. Nowadays though, it is a sport for any dog, purebred or otherwise.
Dogs are held at the start line and released to run the course using their natural prey drive, which can be stimulated by a lure operator who moves the lure to mimic a prey animal. Any dog that can run can participate, including poodles, which may need a little encouragement to learn the ropes but will quickly understand once they do.
Lure Fun Days give your dog the opportunity to do what comes naturally! To chase, sniff the ground, jump, pivot and chase again. Regardless of the breed of dog, they are able to run and enjoy themselves in a safe and controlled environment.
Lure Racing is different from lure coursing in that it is run over a straight course of 80 to 100 metres for small terriers and other small breeds.
